Frequently Asked Questions

Ceremony

How long does the ceremony take?

Each ceremony takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Tickets

How do I obtain guest tickets?

Guest tickets may be picked up ONLY at the Storrs UConn Co-op or may be mailed. Each graduating student must purchase a cap & gown at the Co-op and must present the receipt from that purchase at the Storrs Co-op on any Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, in order to receive tickets. Tickets may also be obtained through the mail upon written request (see Guest Tickets for more information).
Note: Nursing students will obtain their tickets at their alumni event on 03.18.09. For more information, please contact kathe.gable@uconn.edu.

How many guest tickets are allocated to students?
Please see the "Guest Tickets" section of the website.

Can a student request more tickets if the assigned number is insufficient?
Once the distribution of the initial tickets begins, only students may request additional tickets.
Please see the ceremony information page for the individual school/college ceremony contact information.
In general, the availability depends solely on how many students choose not to attend the Commencement ceremonies; therefore, the availability of extra tickets cannot be determined until the week of the event. There are no promises or guarantees for extra tickets.
Note: If you are in the School of Nursing, please contact Kathe Gable at (860) 486-0613 in the Office of External Relations.

Do children need tickets?
Children who are four years of age and older do require a ticket.
